Tough-Coat
Tough-Coat is a heat-reducing coating that can be applied to a wide variety of surfaces. It contains special ingredients that converts heat energy from sunlight into motion and thereby allows it to dissipate. These components of the coating are effective regardless of paint colour and irregularities in the coating surface, which means that aging does not affect performance.
Tough-Coat comes in two varieties. D-42 is a weather-resistant paint made from acrylic urethane resin. D-47 is a specially-formulated variant suitable for application to external surfaces like walls and sidewalks. As an added benefit, D-47 includes special radiating materials that allow for rapid cooling of surfaces like roads once the sun sets.
Explanation of the Heat Exchange Method
As global warming becomes an increasingly significant problem, methods are urgently needed to improve efficiency and cut CO2 output resulting from industrial activity.
Tough-Coat heat exchange paints are one such way of cutting CO2 output. Tough-Coat doesn't just shield coated surfaces against heat by providing thermal insulation, it actually promotes heat exchange. This means that heat exchange paint does the opposite, allowing airspaces and ceramic shells to store and then dissipate the heat.
What is a Heat Exchange Paint?
When sunlight hits specially-formulated Heat Exchange Paint, a part of the infra-red rays are deflected. The remainder of the sunlight is converted into thermal energy and dissipated throughout the paint film as heat. The paint film does not store the energy, however: special heat-radiating materials cause the greater part of the heat energy to be emitted as kinetic energy.
