Hydrophobic SandHydrophobic sand is the result of a patented treatment process that causes ordinary sand to repel water. This process does not involve coating or adding anything to the sand, but rather modifies the microscale structure of each sand grain to create a lasting cushion of air that surrounds the grain and repels water.
This hydrophobic sand is non-toxic and retains many physical properties of ordinary sand. It has thermal, acoustic and electrical insulating properties and is stress-resistant. Its hydrophobicity means that it prevents corrosion and is anti-fungal. It flows like natural sand under all ambient conditions.
